Opening the door to a new plotline

Alexa. 26 years old, Latina, queer, feminist, slut, prude, writer, corporate slave, a soft voice and a violent heart.
blargh. i wrote stuff.
i had a big climactic point in the story and then afterwards i wasn’t sure what i needed to do. i tried a bunch of different kinds of filler/set-up scenes but they all felt wrong.
so i did what i typically do when i can’t figure what happens next. that big crazy exciting thing that’s supposed to happen later? that’s happening now. only this time it was something i was really scared of writing.
so i changed the idea behind it. car chase turns into a kidnapping. don’t really know what’s going to happen after that. but having a blank slate might help. hopefully. otherwise, i don’t know what’s going on.
@1 week ago with 2 notesmaybe i’m just listening to way too much pop music right now to properly write a creepy sadistic vampire/werewolf story
@2 weeks ago with 1 noteGotten to the point in writing a short story that I have to decide whether its fan fic or an original.
What to do what to do
@4 weeks ago with 2 notesAlso, coming up with daily affirmations a psychopath might recite to keep himself in check is really fun but also really hard.
@1 month ago with 2 notesi have been struggling a lot with my main character lately
and today i was procrastinating doing any writing by watching clips of all of sandor clegane’s scenes on youtube
and then when i finally got around to writing, i realized that if i just pretended my mc was the hound, then she made a lot more sense

i don’t if i’ve lost interest in my wip or
i just shouldn’t try to write when i’m tired. because it’s not like i have a craving to start anything else.
my indifference lately is kind of freaking me out.
@1 week ago with 1 notekind of weird. i’ve got a lot going on in my brain right now creatively but none of it is directed towards my wip. i did some fiddling today, but nothing spectacular.
however, i’ve been really into writing short stories. i actually finished two, and i haven’t finished anything in years. i think game of thrones has a little bit to do with it, there are so many plotlines and characters that ideas start shooting off left and right. and i guess a part of me got bored of thinking “well, maybe i’ll turn that into a novel someday” and instead just decided to execute what i had.
who knows maybe i’ll actually have enough of a body of work to start submitting
@3 weeks ago with 1 noteAm I trying too hard to make this cyberpunk? Is this even scifi at all? What do you do when your story has to take place in the future by default, but it’s not really about the future? Or maybe it is?
I just want to pretend I’m writing the novelization of a Refn movie.
@1 month ago with 2 notesSometimes you only manage to add another 2k words to your novel in a week.
And sometimes you write 3k words for a brand new short story in a day.
